Anti-static work clothes are specifically designed garments created using fabrics that prevent the accumulation of static electricity. These fabrics are typically composed of conductive fibers or a combination of conductive and antistatic synthetic fibers, woven together at regular intervals or evenly mixed throughout the fabric during the weaving process.
Conductive fibers are made from either metal or organic conductive materials, or partially conductive materials. These fibers have a volume resistivity (ρV~) ranging from 10e4 to 10e9Ω/cm. Based on the distribution of conductive components within the fiber, conductive fibers can be categorized into three types: homogeneous, coated, and composite. Among these, composite fibers, which combine different conductive components, are commonly used in the majority of antistatic fabrics.
Antistatic work clothes, incorporating conductive fibers into chemical fiber fabrics, operate based on two mechanisms: charge leakage and neutralization. When the fabric is grounded, the conductive fibers enable the neutralization of static electricity through corona discharge, effectively dissipating it into the ground. Even when not grounded, the conductive fibers facilitate the dissipation of static electricity through a weak corona discharge mechanism.
